1. Impacts of Climate Change on Australian Marine Life
The report provides a synthesis of current knowledge of climate change impacts on Australian marine life. It reviews the scientific literature on climate change impacts on Australian marine life in the context of known impacts elsewhere in the world. The report develops a ranking of marine life vulnerable to climate changes in seven Large Marine Domains adjacent to continental Australia.

2. Community Ownership of Toilet Blocks in India
The paper describes the ten-year program of community-designed, built and managed toilet blocks undertaken by urban poor federations and women’s cooperatives in India. It explains the first experiments with community sanitation. It discusses the major community toilet programs developed in Pune and Mumbai and the lessons learnt from them.

3. Weather Forecasting for Adapting Food Production
The studies assess extended-range weather forecasting as a potential tool for adapting food production to climate variability and change in Sub-Saharan West Africa. It identifies choices for farmers as responses to a foreknowledge of seasonal weather. It highlights the inadequacies in the existing weather forecasting capacity and recommends measures for upgrading their skills.

4. World Bank’s Failure to Tackle Climate Change
The report examines the World Bank’s investment framework and presents a response from international civil society groups. It shows that the World Bank’s energy sector portfolio is failing to reap the double dividend of renewable energy technologies that fight poverty and climate change. The framework’s “business as usual” approach inadequately addresses climate change, and continues to keep more than one billion poor people in the dark.

5. Climate Change Issues in Canadian Municipalities
The paper provides municipal decision-makers with information to understand the need for climate change adaptation and how to put such measures in place. It outlines decision-making processes to adapt to climate change and showcases municipal adaptation measures implemented across the Canada. The paper helps enhance understanding of climate change adaptation among elected officials, staff and the broader community.

6. Seminar on Improving Urban Climate in Asia-Pacific
The seminar is being held from 09-13 July, 2007 in Tokyo, Japan. It aims to help participating cities understand mechanisms which can assist them in reducing greenhouse gas emissions from their communities.
