Are We Adapting to Climate Change?          

The paper attempts to gain insights into the state of anticipatory adaptation planning within a developed country context. It reviews a diverse suite of adaptation decision frameworks and action plans.  Based upon tools commonly employed in development assistance projects and programs, the paper develops a general guiding framework for the evaluation of adaptation.

Implications of Climate Change for Urban Policy-making  

This article sketches the implications of climate change for cities. It underlines the relevance of cities for climate change. The article focuses on the impact that climate change can have on the urban functions, and describes the implications for urban policies.

Dangerous Climate Change – An Update of the IPCC       

The study produces an update of the famous ‘burning embers’ diagram of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s Third Assessment Report (TAR). The update provides evidence that climate change and its consequences are more severe than were presented in either the TAR or the Fourth Assessment Report.

Adaptation: Knowledge Gaps and Research Issues in China    

This study identifies (on the basis of preliminary literature review and an initial consultation workshop in Beijing with Chinese experts) a set of geographical regions of high climate vulnerability in China. It highlights adaptation research issues that are likely to affect large numbers of vulnerable people in China.

Climate Change and Disaster Impact Reduction           

This publication is the edited volume of the UK-South Asia Young Scientists and Practitioners Seminar on Climate Change and Disaster Impact Reduction, held in Kathmandu, Nepal on 05-06 June, 2008. Global Change in Africa: Projections, Mitigation and Adaptation       

This conference will take place at the University of Cologne, Germany from 02-05 June 2009. It will bring together scientists that may substantially contribute with disciplinary and trans-disciplinary knowledge to develop solutions for consequences of a rapid global change. Abstracts may be submitted by 31st march 2009.
