The paper focuses on the evidence available about climate change and migration intentions in Funafuti (island of Tuvalu). It challenges the widely held assumption that climate change is, will, or should result in large-scale migration from Funafuti. The paper shows the extent to which people in Funafuti are intending to migrate in response to climate change.

Climate Change: Quantifying Risk to Energy Infrastructure        

Climate change affects energy supply and demand and virtually all aspects related to energy infrastructure. This presentation looks at how the vulnerability of infrastructure will change as the climate changes, focusing on infrastructure in California. It presents a draft methodology (using GIS mapping) to quantify risk to California’s energy infrastructure from projected climate change.

Border Carbon Adjustment (BCA) – An Analysis        

The paper analyses Border Carbon Adjustment (BCA) – a trade measure that helps force major developing countries to take on hard commitments in the negotiations over a post-2012 climate regime. It judges BCA on the criteria of effectiveness, administrative feasibility, WTO legality and wider geopolitical impacts.

Future Strategic Planning through Scenarios – Literature Review  

The report focuses on academic and non‑academic literature related to scenario planning (an approach to address future uncertainty and complexity). It points to ways that public agencies could be organised to make better use of scenarios and methods to make scenarios more relevant to policy-makers.

Climate Adaptation Strategies – Makawanpur, Nepal               

The paper assesses the impacts of climate change on communities in the Makawanpur district of Nepal. It collects primary and secondary data through focus group discussions, a questionnaire survey and a workshop on climate change. The paper identifies some of the adaptation options to build resilience of the area.
