1. Garnaut Climate Change Review Releases Interim Report
The report provides early insights from the Garnaut Climate Change Review’s work to date as a basis for community discussion. It sets out some initial considerations for the design of Australia’s emissions trading scheme (ETS), due to come into effect in 2010. Submissions are invited on the report by 11 April 2008.

2. A Prospectus for Urban Resilience Research
The paper prioritises urban resilience research over the next 3 – 5 years on the major challenges facing urban systems. It outlines a new and exciting research effort within the Resilience Alliance that will generate the scientific basis (needed by urban managers) to formulate strategies for urban futures.

3. Energy Picture: Where Are We Now? Where Are We Headed?
Increasing energy demand, global climate change, and constrained energy supplies are likely to impact how energy affects businesses in the future. Are companies prepared for the energy challenges that lie ahead? 4. Economic Assessment of Adaptation Strategies – Italy
The paper assesses the economic value of the impacts of climate change for different Italian economic sectors and regions. It focuses on adaptation measures and their estimated costs. The paper aggregates the economic value of different climate change impacts through a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model.

5. How Communities Can Prepare for Climate Change Impacts?
The guide helps local decision-makers to prepare for climate change. It facilitates planning for climate impacts by specifying practical steps and strategies (creating climate change preparedness teams; identifying community vulnerabilities to climate change; and identifying, selecting, and implementing adaptation options) that can be used to build community resilience into the future.

6. Digital Earth Summit on Geoinformatics – Germany
Digital Earth Summit on Geoinformatics: Tools for Global Change Research will be held in Potsdam, Germany from 12-14 November 2008. The Summit will bring together leading scientists working in the fields of Geoinformatics and Global Change. Papers (not more than 400 words) / posters may be submitted by 15 March 2008.
