Introduction
Southeast Asia is one of the locii of the suggested "global nuclear renaissance", with serious official consideration of nuclear power underway in Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. The Philippines is considering re-opening its scandal-ridden Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. Burma is suspected to be covertly attempting to develop nuclear power for military purposes.
