NORTHEAST ASIA PEACE AND SECURITY NETWORK ***** SPECIAL REPORT ***** This report is distributed to e-mail participants of the NAPS Network. Following is a list of US non-governmental organizations providing humanitarian relief aid to the DPRK. The list was originally compiled by The Korea Society and was updated as of March 5, 1997, by Dr. Mark P. Barry, Director of Research, Summit Council for World Peace. In submitting the list for distribution to NAPSNet subscribers, Dr. Barry noted that although the list is not exhaustive, it does offer a wide selection of organizations that have obtained US government licenses to provide aid to the DPRK, and to which contributions are tax-deductible. The Summit Council is an association of former heads of state and government in Washington, D.C., that also operates the Summit Council Humanitarian Relief Fund Project for North Korea. -------------------- Selected U.S. Non-Governmental Organizations Providing Humanitarian Aid to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (updated March 5, 1997): Adventist Development and Relief Agency 12501 Old Columbia Pike Silver Spring, MD 20904 (301) 680.6340 E-mail: 74617.1365@compuserve.com Program Contact: Tamara Pleitez American Friends Service Committee 1501 Cherry Street Philadelphia, PA 19102 (215) 241.7014 E-mail: afscid@igc.apc.org Program Contacts: Dave Elder, Alice Andrews, or Jill Warrington American Red Cross 2025 E Street, NW Washington, DC 20006 (202) 728.6641 E-mail: mccullyt@usa.redcross.org Program Contact: Tim McCully Catholic Relief Services 209 West Fayette Street Baltimore, MD 21201-3443 (410) 625.2220 ext. 3453 E-mail: cshipman@catholicrelief.org Program Contact: Chantel Shipman Christian Reformed World Relief Committee 2850 Kalamazoo Ave. SE Grand Rapids, Ml 49560 (616) 224.0808 ext. 176 E-mail: wittej@crcna.org Program Contact: Joy White Church World Service 475 Riverside Drive, Rm 687 New York, NY 10115-0050 (212) 870.2371 E-mail: victor@ncccusa.org Program Contact: Victor Hsu Eugene Bell Centennial Foundation 80 Walker Cove Road Black Mountain, NC 28711 (704) 669.2355 Program Contact: Stephen W.
