Statement of Le Bang Vietnam’s Vice Foreign Minister

This statement was made in response to the Nautilus Institute’s release of a declassified US report advising against the use of tactical nuclear weapons in Vietnam:

“The Vietnamese government and people always wanted peace for their nation. The US’ use of TNWs during the war in Vietnam would have caused thousands of innocent people to suffer and would not have diminished the will of the Vietnamese people to protect their homeland.”
